Solar thermal is in operation in a very large number of countries and will be in operation in many more. If you had only bothered to read the post then you might have learned that China will have in a matter of years ( before any of the Arab nuclear plans is operational) 2 gigawatts of thermal solar power and you might have also learned that Germany is phasing out each and every one of its nuclear plants and that the US has not added a single one in over thirty years.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00826733025674909285noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-807039862321845767.post-87685993099507499382010-08-11T14:37:06.794-04:002010-08-11T14:37:06.794-04:00There is a great gap between what’s possible and w...There is a great gap between what’s possible and what’s nice to have. What you’re talking about is still on so much paper only and, yes, it would definitely work!…. But not today, or tomorrow. It would take years to employ the full potential we need from solar in order to substitute nuclear. What you see available at the moment in terms of solar facilities is just the tip of an iceberg. Nothing happens over night, it’s a process that takes time and effort. We cannot wait until all renewable energy sources get developed and do nothing (build nukes) just because there is a risk. Risk is everywhere. So, stop catastrofising, nothing’s going to happen. Remember, balance is the answer to all problems. Ramadan Kareem!Sam Bodynoreply@blogger.com
